Live Surgery Registration Form

Dear Colleague,

It is a great pleasure to invite you to a unique fully online educational event organized by the Middle-Eastern Society for Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery (MSSFN), proudly endorsed by the World Society for Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery (WSSFN) and the WFNS Stereotactic & Functional Neurosurgery Committee.

LIVE DBS SURGERY COURSE — FULLY ONLINE

Istanbul – 29 April 2026 | Language: English (GMT+3)

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

This course is streamed entirely online — every lecture, every surgical step, and every moment of expert discussion. All registered participants will be able to watch the complete course live, in real time, from wherever they are in the world. There is no need to travel; simply register and join from your computer or device on the day.

This is a rare opportunity to watch a complete Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) surgery for Parkinson's Disease live online — from frame mounting and patient positioning, through precise GPi targeting, to full implantation — performed under general anesthesia. Notably, all intraoperative electrophysiological studies, including Microelectrode Recording (MER) and Motor Evoked Potentials (MEP), will also be conducted under general anesthesia, offering a compelling demonstration that robust, high-quality neurophysiological monitoring is fully achievable in the asleep DBS patient.

SPECIAL LECTURES

› Prof. Patric Blomstedt MD — "SUSy Stereotactic System"

A dedicated lecture on the design, clinical application, and surgical philosophy of the SUSy frame — the very system used in this live procedure.

› Prof. Ali Savas MD — "Surgery for Dystonia"

An expert overview of surgical strategies and outcomes in the treatment of dystonia, providing essential context for functional neurosurgeons.
